Langkawi and Redang are completely different! Langkawi is developed with malls, cable car, nightlife and tourism facilities — great for activities and duty-free shopping. Pulau Redang is a protected marine park — more remote, pristine and untouched, with dramatically clearer water (up to 20m visibility!), vibrant coral reefs, sea turtles and incredible snorkeling. If Langkawi is the "fun island," Redang is the "paradise island." 🏝️🤿
Yes! Pulau Redang is famous for green sea turtle encounters. Turtles are regularly seen during snorkeling sessions — they glide calmly through the clear water around coral gardens. Marine park rules require maintaining respectful distance from turtles. Hawksbill turtles are also occasionally spotted. This is one of the most memorable wildlife experiences in Malaysia! 🐢
No previous experience required! The Redang snorkeling package is suitable for all levels including complete beginners. Snorkeling guides provide full instructions and supervision in shallow, calm waters. Children from age 6 can participate. Life jackets and flotation devices are available. If you can swim, you can snorkel at Redang! 🤿👍
Redang is open March to October only. Best months are April to August — calm seas, excellent visibility (20m+), and perfect snorkeling conditions.
