Most Bangladeshi travelers don't realise Batam is just a 45-minute ferry from Singapore's HarbourFront — and once you're there, resorts, seafood and spa cost a fraction of Singapore prices. The advice I give every client: base a night or two on the calmer Nongsa beachfront side and day-trip into Singapore, instead of paying Singapore hotel rates the whole trip.
Two things I never skip on Batam: a seafood dinner at one of the kelong (over-water stilt) restaurants, and a proper massage — both are some of the best value in the region. Halal food is everywhere, so eating is easy for our travelers. One practical note: goFLY arranges the ferry tickets and your Indonesia visa paperwork, so you walk straight through the terminal instead of queuing.
