For a short-stay visa, no. The Danish embassy states that applications for Denmark, Norway, the Faroe Islands and Greenland can be handed in Sunday to Thursday between 9 am and 2 pm without a prior appointment — unusual among Dhaka centres, where booking first is the norm. Residence-permit applicants must appear in person; the embassy does not publish whether they need a booked slot.
The submission window is the narrow one, so a late-morning arrival can cost you the day. Public holidays in Bangladesh and in Denmark both close the counter, and those dates are announced separately — ring 09606 777000 the day before you travel to Dhaka for it.
Worth Knowing Before You Go
- One centre, four destinations: Denmark, Norway, the Faroe Islands and Greenland are all handed in here.
- Norway has its own embassy in Dhaka (Bay’s Edgewater, 6th Floor, Gulshan 2) but it does not take visa applications — the Danish embassy handles visa and residence-permit matters for Norway, and this centre is where the file goes.
- The centre moved here on 26 May 2024. The old address at Delta Life Tower, Plot 37, Road 90, Gulshan 2 is closed — and it is still printed on some official pages, including Norway’s own. If a guide sends you to Gulshan 2 for a Norwegian visa, it is out of date.
- The centre scans your papers and forwards them; it takes no decision. Short-stay visas are decided by the Danish embassy in Dhaka, and Norwegian residence permits by UDI in Norway.
- The Danish embassy itself is at Bay’s Edgewater, Plot NE(N) 12, North Avenue, 6th Floor, Gulshan 2, Dhaka 1212, with a visa-section line open 2 pm – 3 pm on Sundays and Wednesdays.
What the Centre Does — and What It Does Not
- It accepts your completed application and supporting documents, takes the fee, and returns the passport.
- It does not decide your visa. That is for the Danish embassy in Dhaka, which also decides Norwegian visas to decide, and the centre cannot influence or speed it up.
- It does not fill your form or judge whether your documents are strong enough before you queue.
goFLY prepares and checks your Denmark or Norway file before you go — cover letter, itinerary, confirmed air ticket booking, hotel bookings, bank statement and travel insurance, with the application form filled correctly. Most refusals from Bangladesh come from a thin or inconsistent file, not from the counter. Bring us the file first — WhatsApp 01713-289175.
