IVAC Bangladesh — Key Facts

  • The Indian visa is free. IVAC’s own page states the Government of India charges Bangladeshi citizens no visa fee. The BDT 1,500 is IVAC’s service charge, all inclusive, in force from 10 August 2025, and non-refundable.
  • You do not pick your slot. Since 1 July 2026 the system allots it sequentially from each centre’s daily capacity.
  • Tourist visas reopened on 28 June 2026 after almost two years. Medical visas ran throughout, in urgent cases on humanitarian grounds.
  • Five centres were in service at reopening: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna.
  • Nobody from IVAC will ring you for money. The High Commission’s alert names 09612 333 666 and 09614 333 666 as imposter numbers and says others may be active.
  • Every figure here is quoted from the official sources listed at the foot of this page, checked on 30 September 2026.

IVAC Visa Fee 2026 — What You Actually Pay

This is where most of the confusion sits, so take it in two parts. The Indian visa costs nothing. IVAC’s own page for Bangladeshi nationals puts it plainly: the Government of India does not charge visa fees to citizens of Bangladesh, and the Indian visa continues to remain free of charge for all Bangladeshi nationals. What you hand over is IVAC’s service charge for handling the application.

Indian visa feeFree for Bangladeshi nationals — charged by the Government of India at zero
IVAC processing chargeBDT 1,500, described by IVAC as “all inclusive”
In force since10 August 2025
Refundable? No. The processing fee is non-refundable, whatever the outcome
Anything elseNothing. The High Commission tells applicants to refuse any charge above the published processing charge
⚠️ A free visa with a fee attached is exactly what fraudsters trade on

Because the visa is free and the charge is small, anyone quoting you tens of thousands of taka “for the visa” is not quoting a government fee. There may be a legitimate agency fee for preparing your file — ours is quoted openly and separately — but the visa itself has no price, and no amount of money buys a faster decision.

IVAC Slot Booking — Why You Cannot Choose a Time

Until mid-2026 the appointment scramble was the worst part of an Indian visa from Bangladesh. That changed on 1 July 2026, when IVAC switched to automatic allotment. In the system’s own wording, time slots are allotted automatically in a sequential manner based on the daily configured appointment capacity of each visa application centre. You book the appointment; the system hands you the time.

  • You are given a slot, not asked for one. It arrives in your appointment confirmation.
  • Turn up at that time. Applicants are advised to reach the centre as per the slot allotted in the confirmation.
  • Capacity is set per centre, per day. When a centre’s day is full, the next slot is on another day — not at another hour.
  • “Guaranteed slot” offers are worthless. No agency, goFLY included, can reach into an automated queue.
What this means in practice

Have the file finished before you book, not after. Once the system gives you a date, your preparation time is fixed — and if a document is missing on the day, you rejoin the queue rather than rearrange the hour.

IVAC Payment Fraud — the One Section to Read Twice

The High Commission has published its own alert about this, and it is worth quoting closely because the scam is well built. People posing as official staff telephone applicants, tell them there is a problem with the application, and ask for money by bKash to fix it.

  • The Indian High Commission and IVAC never call an applicant asking for money for visa application processing, and never promise faster processing. That is the High Commission’s own statement.
  • Two numbers are named in the alert: 09612 333 666 and 09614 333 666. The notice warns that other numbers may also be in use, so a different number is not a reassurance.
  • Refuse any charge above the published processing charge.
  • A call that knows your details is not proof of authenticity. Look-alike status-check and payment sites are how those details leak in the first place — use only IVAC’s own site.
⚠️ If you have already paid someone

Stop, do not pay again, and do not let them keep your passport or delivery slip. IVAC’s notice also tells applicants to report anyone demanding a bribe to the duty manager at the centre. Bring the details to us if you want help sorting out what is left of the application — it is usually recoverable.

IVAC’s Own Rules That Catch People Out

These are all from IVAC’s published applicant notices, and each one turns people away at the counter.

  • Machine-readable passport only. A handwritten passport will not be accepted.
  • Bring every old passport on the appointment date. Applications are not accepted without them.
  • A photograph no more than three months old. An older one, however good, is a refusal at the desk.
  • You are personally responsible for the accuracy of the form. A mistake on it can mean the application is not accepted at all.
  • Fake documents are your personal liability — IVAC says so in as many words.
  • Acceptance is not approval. IVAC’s notice is explicit that having the form accepted does not entitle you to a visa.
  • Medical visas: three attendants maximum with the patient.

IVAC Centres — and Why This Page Does Not Print Their Addresses

When tourist services resumed, visas were being issued through five IVACs: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Sylhet and Khulna, with the High Commissioner saying operations in other cities would be scaled up gradually.

We have deliberately not listed street addresses here. The network has been reorganised more than once, IVAC’s own site carries notices about a new centre and about which branches offer which services, and a wrong address on a visa page costs somebody a day and an appointment. Take the address for your centre from IVAC’s own website on the day you book, or ring us and we will read out the current one.

⚠️ Use the official site, not a search result

There are many look-alike domains for IVAC payment and status checking. The official channels are IVAC’s own website and its own payment portal, and the visa helpline email visahelp@hcidhaka.org. If a site asks for card details or a bKash payment outside those, close it.

Where goFLY Fits

Honestly: not in the queue, and not in the decision. The slot is automated and the visa is the High Commission’s call. What we do is the part that decides whether your day at the counter works — the form filled without the mistakes that get a file turned away, the photograph to specification, every old passport accounted for, the supporting papers consistent with each other, and your travel bookings arranged so the file hangs together.

For a free visa, that is where the money is worth spending — on not losing the appointment. WhatsApp 01713-289176 and we will tell you straight whether you need us at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

The visa itself is free. IVAC's own page states that the Government of India does not charge visa fees to citizens of Bangladesh, and that the Indian visa remains free of charge for all Bangladeshi nationals. What you pay is IVAC's service charge: BDT 1,500, all inclusive, with effect from 10 August 2025. It is non-refundable, whether the visa is granted or refused.

No, not since 1 July 2026. IVAC moved to an automated system in which time slots are allotted by the system in a sequential manner, based on each centre's daily configured appointment capacity. You are given a slot in your appointment confirmation and you are expected to reach the centre at that time. Anyone offering to pick or guarantee a slot for you is selling something they do not control.

Five, when tourist visa services resumed: Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Sylhet and Khulna. The High Commissioner said at the time that operations in other cities would be scaled up gradually, so the number can grow.

Yes. India resumed tourist visas for Bangladeshi nationals from 28 June 2026, after a suspension of nearly two years. Medical visas continued through the suspension and are facilitated in urgent cases on humanitarian grounds. Rules in this corridor have changed more than once, so confirm the current position before you plan around it.

If someone phoned you asking for money, it was not IVAC. The High Commission's own alert states that the Indian High Commission and the Indian Visa Application Centre never call an applicant seeking money for visa application processing, and never promise faster processing. Its notice names 09612 333 666 and 09614 333 666 as numbers used by imposters, and warns that others may be active. Pay nothing beyond the published processing charge.

On IVAC's own website, using the web reference number on your delivery slip. Use only ivacbd.com and its own payment portal. Search results throw up a number of look-alike domains for status checking and payment, and handing your passport details to one of those is how the fraudulent calls start.

No, and nobody honestly can — the slot is issued by the system and the decision belongs to the High Commission. What goFLY does is the part that actually affects the outcome: getting the form, the photograph, the old passports and the supporting papers right before you attend, so the file is not rejected at the counter for something avoidable.

Where These Details Come From

Every figure and quotation on this page was taken from the sources below and checked on 30 September 2026. Fees, slot rules and which categories are open have all changed in this corridor before and will change again — if you find anything different, tell us and we will correct it the same day.
