Service Scope

goFLY Limited — a trusted visa processing agency in Bangladesh — provides comprehensive support for Canada temporary resident visa applications. Our experienced team assists with Visitor Visa (TRV), Business Visitor Visa, Super Visa for parents/grandparents, and provides advisory support for Study Permit applications. We handle IRCC online application preparation, document review, cover letter drafting, and VFS biometrics appointment booking.

❌ We Do NOT Process

Work permits, LMIA applications, Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), or any immigration/permanent residence applications. Canadian work permits require a valid job offer from a Canadian employer with an approved Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Any agency promising "guaranteed Canada work visa" or "PR package" without legitimate employer sponsorship or proper immigration pathway is running a scam. goFLY only assists with temporary resident visas (visitor, business, super visa) and provides advisory for study permits.

⚠️ Our Honest Approach

We declined 70+ Canada visa applications in 2025 during free consultations because those cases had weak documentation, insufficient ties to Bangladesh, or unrealistic expectations. Canada has one of the most rigorous visa assessment processes globally. We would rather lose the sale than take your money for a likely rejection. This honest approach has earned us 90%+ success rate on cases we accept.

💡 Important: eTA Does NOT Apply to Bangladeshis

Unlike citizens of some countries, Bangladeshi passport holders are NOT eligible for Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). You MUST apply for a full Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) regardless of the purpose of your visit — whether tourism, business, transit, or visiting family.

Visitor Visa (TRV) — Step-by-Step Process

The Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Visitor Visa is required for Bangladeshi citizens to visit Canada for tourism, visiting family/friends, or attending events. Here's the complete application process:

1

Create IRCC Online Account

Visit IRCC website and create a GCKey account or sign in with a Sign-In Partner. Answer eligibility questions to get your personalized document checklist. Save your account credentials securely — you'll need them throughout the process and for future applications.
2

Complete Application Forms

Fill out IMM 5257 (Application for Visitor Visa), IMM 5645 (Family Information), and other required forms. Answer ALL questions truthfully and completely — inconsistencies can lead to rejection or misrepresentation finding (which can result in a 5-year ban from Canada). Use the IRCC portal's form-filling feature or download PDF forms.
3

Prepare & Upload Documents

Gather all required documents: passport (current + all old passports), photos, invitation letter from Canadian host, proof of funds (6-12 months bank statements), employment/business proof, travel history evidence, ties to Bangladesh documentation. Scan and upload each document to your IRCC account. Ensure files are clear, complete, and meet size/format requirements. Include a detailed cover letter explaining your purpose and addressing any potential concerns.
4

Pay Fees Online

Pay CAD $100 (visa fee) + CAD $85 (biometrics fee) = CAD $185 total per person. For family of 5+ applying together, visa fee cap is CAD $500 total + CAD $170 biometrics. Payment via Visa, Mastercard, or other accepted international cards. Keep payment receipt/confirmation. Your application is NOT submitted until payment is complete.
5

Provide Biometrics at VFS Global

After submission, you'll receive a Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) in your IRCC account (usually within 24-48 hours). Book appointment immediately at VFS Global Dhaka — slots fill quickly. You have 30 days from BIL date to complete biometrics. Bring: BIL (printed), passport (original), appointment confirmation. Provide 10-finger fingerprints and photo. Biometrics are valid for 10 years.
6

Wait for Decision & Submit Passport

Track application status in your IRCC account regularly. Processing typically takes 25–120+ days from Bangladesh (highly variable — check weekly). IRCC may request additional documents or interview — respond promptly. If approved, you'll receive a Passport Request Letter. Submit passport via VFS or courier as instructed. Visa sticker (counterfoil) will be placed in passport and returned to you.
💡 goFLY Expert Tip

Canada visa officers assess "dual intent" — they want to see you have a genuine temporary visit purpose AND strong ties to Bangladesh that will compel your return. Key success factors:

  • Strong Employment/Business: Stable job with good income, or established business with continuous operations and staff
  • Property Ownership: Land, house, apartment, or significant assets in Bangladesh
  • Family Ties: Spouse, children, dependent parents remaining in Bangladesh
  • Financial Stability: 6-12 months consistent bank balance (CAD $5,000-15,000+ equivalent depending on trip) — not sudden deposits
  • Travel History: Previous travel to developed countries (US, UK, Schengen, Australia, Japan) with timely returns
  • Clear Purpose: Genuine, specific, believable reason for visiting Canada
  • Strong Cover Letter: Proactively address any concerns and explain your situation clearly

Weak ties and insufficient/unstable finances are the #1 rejection reasons for Bangladeshi applicants.

Visitor Visa — Document Checklist

🪪 Identity & Application Documents

  • Passport: Current valid passport + ALL old passports (critical for demonstrating travel history)
  • Photos: Two recent photos meeting IRCC specifications (35×45 mm, white background, no glasses, neutral expression)
  • Application Forms: IMM 5257 (Visitor Visa), IMM 5645 (Family Information), and any additional forms from your personalized IRCC checklist
  • NID: National ID card copy (both sides, color)
  • Cover Letter/Letter of Explanation: Detailed explanation of trip purpose, itinerary, ties to Bangladesh, financial situation, and why you will return (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED — essentially essential for Bangladeshi applicants)

✈️ Purpose of Travel Documents

  • Invitation Letter: From Canadian host (family/friend) with their full details, your relationship, specific visit dates, accommodation arrangements, and their commitment to your visit
  • Host's Documents: Copy of Canadian passport/PR card, proof of immigration status (if PR), proof of address (utility bill/lease), employment letter with salary, recent pay stubs, Notice of Assessment (NOA — tax return)
  • Travel Itinerary: Planned activities, cities to visit, places of interest (do NOT book non-refundable flights until visa approved)
  • Relationship Proof: Photos together, communication records (WhatsApp/email), previous visit records, family tree if applicable

💰 Financial Evidence (CRITICAL)

  • Bank Statements: Last 6-12 months from ALL personal accounts, showing consistent balance and regular transactions (salary credits, business income)
  • Recommended Balance: CAD $5,000-15,000+ equivalent (or more depending on trip length/purpose) — no fixed minimum, but must demonstrate ability to fund your entire trip
  • Bank Solvency Certificate: Recent certificate from your bank (within 7 days of application)
  • Fixed Deposits (FDR): Certificates, savings bonds, savings certificates if available
  • Sponsor's Funds: If Canadian host is financially sponsoring, their bank statements (3-6 months) + employment letter + Notice of Assessment (tax document)
  • Property Documents: Land ownership deeds, house registration, property tax receipts — shows significant ties to Bangladesh
  • Investment Documents: Share certificates, bonds, mutual funds, other investments if available
⚠️ Explaining Large or Sudden Deposits

Sudden large deposits in your bank account within 1-3 months before application are a major RED FLAG for visa officers. If you have legitimate large deposits (property sale, business income, matured FDR, gift from family member), you MUST explain them clearly in your cover letter with supporting documents:

  • Property sale: Sale deed, registration documents
  • Business income: Invoices, contracts, business bank statements
  • FDR maturity: Original FDR certificate showing maturity date
  • Gift: Gift letter from donor + their bank statements showing source

Unexplained sudden deposits often lead to refusal as they appear to be "borrowed money" to inflate your balance temporarily.

💼 Employment/Business Proof (CRITICAL)

  • Employed: Employment letter on official company letterhead (stating position, joining date, current salary, leave approval with specific return date), salary certificates/payslips (12 months), TIN certificate, company ID card, employment contract
  • Business Owners: Trade license (current/renewed), TIN certificate, business bank statements (6-12 months), company registration/incorporation documents, tax returns (last 2-3 years), company profile/website, major contracts/client invoices
  • Professionals: Professional license/registration (doctors, engineers, lawyers), chamber membership, client contracts, practice establishment proof
  • Students: Enrollment letter from institution, student ID, recent transcripts, leave approval from institution, parent/guardian's financial documents as sponsor
  • Retired: Pension documents, official retirement letter, bank statements showing regular pension credits

👨‍👩‍👧 Ties to Bangladesh (CRITICAL)

  • Family Ties: Marriage certificate, children's birth certificates, family photo, dependent family members' documents
  • Property/Assets: Land ownership documents (porcha/deed), house registration, apartment ownership, vehicle registration
  • Business/Employment: As documented above — shows strong economic reasons to return
  • Social/Community: Professional association memberships, club memberships, community organization involvement
  • Upcoming Commitments: Upcoming business contracts, children's school admissions, scheduled family events (weddings, etc.)

✈️ Travel History

  • Previous Visas: Copies of ALL previous visas, especially US, UK, Schengen, Australia, Japan, South Korea
  • Travel Stamps: Old passports showing entry/exit stamps with timely returns
  • Previous Canada Visits: If you visited Canada before, details of previous visits showing compliance with visa conditions
  • Previous Refusals: If you have prior visa refusals (any country), be prepared to explain and directly address the issues in your cover letter
❌ Top Reasons for Canada Visa Rejection from Bangladesh
  • Weak ties to Bangladesh: No property, unstable/low-paying job, limited family obligations, no compelling reason to return
  • Insufficient/unstable funds: Low bank balance, sudden unexplained deposits, balance doesn't support trip cost
  • No travel history: First-time international traveler to a developed country without other strong factors
  • Vague purpose of visit: Unclear, generic, or unconvincing reason for visiting Canada specifically
  • Weak host invitation: Host's income/immigration status doesn't demonstrate ability to support the visit
  • Inconsistent information: Application details don't match supporting documents — major credibility issue
  • Previous refusals unexplained: Prior visa rejections (Canada or other countries) without addressing the issues
  • Incomplete/poor quality documents: Missing pages, blurry scans, unsigned forms, illegible documents
  • Not addressing weaknesses: Failure to proactively explain gaps, concerns, or red flags in cover letter
  • Misrepresentation: Any false information can result in 5-year ban — always be 100% truthful

Business Visitor Visa — Requirements

A Business Visitor visa allows you to attend meetings, conferences, trade fairs, or negotiate contracts in Canada. You CANNOT work, provide services, receive payment from Canadian sources, or enter the Canadian labour market — you must remain a visitor conducting legitimate business activities only.

Core Requirements

  • Business Invitation Letter: From Canadian company/organization with: meeting purpose, specific dates, your full details, agenda, who bears costs, explicit confirmation you won't receive payment or perform work in Canada
  • Conference/Event Registration: If attending trade show, conference, or professional event — official registration confirmation, event details, exhibitor pass if applicable
  • Your Company Letter: From Bangladesh employer/business explaining purpose of visit, specific meetings/activities, duration, cost bearer, your position and responsibilities, confirmation of continued employment upon return
  • Trade License & TIN: Business registration documents (current/renewed)
  • Business Bank Statements: Company accounts (6 months) showing healthy business operations
  • Personal Bank Statements: As with visitor visa — 6-12 months, consistent balance
  • Previous Business Relationship: Emails, contracts, invoices, import/export documents, trade history with Canadian counterpart
  • Company Profile: Brochure, website printout, client list, major projects, company registration documents
⚠️ Business Visitor vs Work Permit — Critical Distinction

Business visitors CAN: Attend meetings/conferences, negotiate deals, observe business operations, receive training (limited scope), participate in trade fairs as exhibitor/attendee, sign contracts.

Business visitors CANNOT: Work for a Canadian employer, provide hands-on services to Canadian clients, enter the labour market, receive payment/salary from Canadian sources, take a job position.

If you're going to perform work, provide services, or receive payment, you need a Work Permit (usually requires LMIA from employer). Misrepresenting work as a business visit is serious misrepresentation and can result in a 5-year ban from Canada plus criminal inadmissibility. Be 100% honest about your activities.

Study Permit — Requirements

A Study Permit is required for studies in Canada longer than 6 months at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). For courses 6 months or less, you may study with a regular visitor visa (no Study Permit required).

⚠️ Advisory Service Only

goFLY provides advisory support for Study Permit applications — document checklists, application guidance, and process explanation. We do NOT guarantee admission to institutions, provide regulated immigration consulting, or process SDS applications. Students must meet all IRCC requirements independently and consider consulting a licensed immigration consultant for complex cases.

Key Requirements (Updated for 2026)

  • Letter of Acceptance (LOA): From a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada — verify your institution's DLI status on IRCC website before applying
  • Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL): Required for most undergraduate and college programs as of January 2024 — your institution/province must provide this letter confirming your spot within provincial cap
  • Proof of Funds (As of September 1, 2025):
ApplicantMinimum Annual Living Cost (CAD)
Single student (outside Quebec)$22,895 + first year tuition
Student + 1 family member$28,502 + first year tuition
Each additional family memberAdditional amount per IRCC guidelines
QuebecDifferent CAQ requirements (check IRCC/MIFI)

Financial requirements as of September 1, 2025 (IRCC update). Amounts exclude tuition and travel costs. Always verify current requirements on IRCC Proof of Financial Support page as these may be adjusted annually.

  • Study Plan/Statement of Purpose: Explain why this specific program, why this institution, why Canada, how it connects to your previous education, how it fits your career goals, and why you'll return to Bangladesh after completing studies
  • Academic Documents: All previous transcripts, degree certificates, diplomas, language test scores (IELTS Academic/TOEFL as required by institution)
  • Ties to Bangladesh: Same as visitor visa — demonstrate compelling reasons to return after completing studies
  • Medical Exam: May be required (upfront for some countries/programs, or after submission as requested)
  • Police Certificate: May be required depending on circumstances

Student Direct Stream (SDS) — Faster Processing

  • Target Processing: 20 calendar days (only if ALL requirements are fully met at time of submission)
  • SDS Requirements:
  • Letter of Acceptance from an SDS-eligible Designated Learning Institution
  • Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) if required for your program type
  • IELTS score of 6.0 or higher in ALL four bands (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) OR equivalent score on approved French/English test
  • GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) of CAD $22,895 from an IRCC-approved Canadian financial institution
  • First year tuition paid in full to the institution
  • Upfront medical examination completed before submitting application
💡 GIC Requirement for SDS

The Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) must be purchased from an IRCC-approved Canadian financial institution. Popular options include:

  • Scotiabank
  • ICICI Bank Canada
  • Bank of Montreal (BMO)
  • CIBC
  • SBI Canada Bank

The GIC certificate is valid for 1 year from purchase date. Funds are released monthly to support your living expenses in Canada during your first year of study. Processing a GIC typically takes 1-4 weeks, so plan accordingly.

❌ Major Study Permit Changes 2024-2026

Canada has implemented significant changes to the international student program that affect Bangladeshi applicants:

  • Study permit caps: Limited number of new study permits issued nationally per year, allocated by province
  • PAL requirement: Provincial Attestation Letter required for most undergraduate and college programs
  • Higher financial requirements: Minimum CAD $22,895 for living costs (increased from previous $20,635)
  • Stricter PGWP rules: Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility tightened for certain programs and institutions
  • Spouse/dependent work permits: Now limited to spouses of students in specific graduate/professional programs only
  • DLI compliance: Increased scrutiny on institution quality and student compliance

These rules continue to evolve. Always verify current requirements on official IRCC Study in Canada page before applying.

Super Visa & Family Visit

Super Visa — For Parents & Grandparents

The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to visit Canada for up to 5 years per entry without needing to renew their status. It's a multiple-entry visa that can be valid for up to 10 years (or until passport expiry).

  • Eligibility: You must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Signed Invitation Letter: From your child/grandchild in Canada with a written undertaking to provide financial support for your entire stay
  • Child's Proof of Status: Copy of Canadian citizenship certificate/passport OR Confirmation of Permanent Residence/PR card
  • Child's Proof of Address: Utility bill, lease agreement, or property documents showing address in Canada
  • Minimum Necessary Income (MNI): Your child/grandchild must demonstrate annual income meeting or exceeding the threshold for their total family size (including you as visitor)

Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) Thresholds (Updated July 29, 2025)

Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) based on Low Income Cut-Off (LICO). Host must demonstrate this income level based on their previous tax year(s) Notice of Assessment. Thresholds updated July 29, 2025. Always verify the current MNI table on IRCC Super Visa Eligibility page as amounts are updated annually.

  • Minimum Coverage Amount: CAD $100,000
  • Validity Period: At least 1 year from your expected date of entry to Canada
  • Coverage Must Include: Healthcare, hospitalization, medical repatriation
  • Insurance Provider: Must be from a Canadian insurance company OR a foreign insurance company that IRCC accepts
  • Proof Required: Policy document showing coverage amount, validity dates, and covered conditions
  • Medical Exam: Upfront medical examination by an IRCC-designated panel physician in Bangladesh (required BEFORE submitting application)
  • Application Fee: Same as regular visitor visa (CAD $100 application + CAD $85 biometrics = CAD $185 total)
❌ Parents & Grandparents Program (PGP) Closed for 2026

The Parents and Grandparents Program (permanent residence sponsorship) is NOT accepting new applications in 2026. IRCC has confirmed they are focusing on processing the existing backlog of previously submitted applications. There is no lottery or new intake for 2026.

Super Visa remains the primary long-stay option for parents and grandparents who want extended visits with their children/grandchildren in Canada. It allows stays of up to 5 years per entry.

goFLY does NOT process PGP permanent residence sponsorship applications. We only assist with Super Visa (temporary resident) applications.

Regular Family Visit (Visitor Visa)

If you don't qualify for Super Visa (host doesn't meet MNI, insurance cost concern, etc.) or prefer a regular visitor visa, the standard TRV process applies with these key differences:

FeatureRegular Visitor Visa (TRV)Super Visa
Maximum stay per entryUp to 6 monthsUp to 5 years
Visa validityUp to 10 years (or passport expiry)Up to 10 years (or passport expiry)
Entry typeUsually multiple-entryAlways multiple-entry

💡 Which Should You Choose?

Choose Super Visa if: You want to stay for extended periods (1-5 years) without renewing status, your child meets the MNI threshold, and you can afford the mandatory insurance.

Choose Regular Visitor Visa if: You plan shorter visits (under 6 months), your child doesn't meet MNI, insurance cost is a concern, or you need faster processing.

Both visa types allow multiple entries and can be valid for up to 10 years. The main difference is maximum stay per entry (6 months vs 5 years).

💡 Fee Confirmation

Fees confirmed via official IRCC fee schedule (updated December 2025). No additional fee changes have been announced for 2026 as of January 27, 2026. However, fees can change without notice. Processing Times from Bangladesh (January 2026)

Visa TypeCurrent Processing TimeRecommendation
Visitor Visa (TRV)25–120+ days (highly variable; often 40–90 days)Apply 3–6 months in advance; check weekly
Super Visa60–150+ daysApply 4–6 months in advance
Study Permit (Regular stream)8–20 weeksApply 3–4 months before program start
Study Permit (SDS stream)20 calendar days targetOnly if ALL SDS requirements fully met
Transit Visa15–30 daysApply 4–6 weeks before travel
❌ Processing Times Are Highly Variable — Check Weekly

Processing times are updated weekly on the IRCC website and fluctuate significantly based on:

  • Overall application volume from Bangladesh
  • Time of year (peak seasons: summer travel, December holidays, September study intake)
  • Complexity of your individual application
  • Whether additional documents or interview are requested

Recent January 2026 data shows high variability for Bangladesh applications. Your application may take significantly longer than displayed estimates, especially during peak periods.

Always check weekly: IRCC Processing Times (select "Visitor visa from outside Canada" → Bangladesh for accurate current estimate).

Apply early: We strongly recommend submitting your application 3–6 months before your intended travel date to account for variability.

Biometrics Requirements

Who Needs Biometrics

  • Required: All applicants ages 14–79 applying for visitor visa, study permit, work permit, or most other temporary/permanent residence applications
  • Exempt: Children under 14, adults 80 and over, certain diplomatic/official visa holders, applicants with valid biometrics already on file
  • Validity: Biometrics are valid for 10 years once provided
  • Reuse: If you provided biometrics within the last 10 years for any Canadian visa/permit application, you typically don't need to provide again (IRCC will reuse existing data from their system)

Biometrics Collection Process

  • Step 1: Submit your complete application and pay ALL fees (including biometrics fee) online through IRCC portal
  • Step 2: Receive Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) in your IRCC account (usually within 24–48 hours of submission)
  • Step 3: Book appointment at VFS Global Dhaka immediately via visa.vfsglobal.com/bgd/en/can — don't delay
  • Step 4: Visit VFS on your appointment date with all required documents
  • Step 5: Provide 10-finger fingerprint scan and digital photograph
  • Deadline: You MUST complete biometrics within 30 days of receiving your BIL — missing this deadline can result in your application being refused

What to Bring to VFS for Biometrics

  • Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL): Printed copy from your IRCC account
  • Valid Passport: Original passport (same one used in application)
  • VFS Appointment Confirmation: Printed copy of your booking
  • VFS Service Fee Payment: If any additional VFS services are being used
💡 Biometrics Tips for Success
  • Book immediately: As soon as you receive your BIL, book your VFS appointment. Appointment slots fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons (summer, December, September).
  • Don't wait until deadline: Don't wait until the last few days of your 30-day window — slots may not be available, and you risk missing the deadline.
  • Premium lounge option: VFS offers a premium lounge service for faster, more comfortable processing (additional fee). Consider this if regular appointment slots are scarce.
  • Fingers must be clean: Remove any henna, bandages, ink, or other substances that might affect fingerprint capture quality. Dry, cracked fingers can also cause issues — use moisturizer the day before if needed.
  • Arrive on time: Arrive 15–30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Tracking Your Application

How to Track Your Application

  • IRCC Online Account: Primary and most reliable tracking method — log in to your GCKey/IRCC account to see current status and any messages/requests
  • Application Number: Your unique application number is assigned after submission; use this for all correspondence and tracking
  • Email Notifications: IRCC sends updates to your registered email address — check your spam/junk folder regularly
  • Check Regularly: Log in to your IRCC account at least once per week to check for status changes or requests for additional documents

Application Status Meanings

  • Submitted / Received: Application received by IRCC system and in queue for processing
  • In Progress / Processing: Your application is actively being reviewed by a visa officer
  • Biometrics Received: Your fingerprints and photo are successfully on file
  • Medical Results Received: If medical exam was required/completed, results are on file
  • Additional Documents Requested: Officer needs more information — respond promptly with requested documents
  • Interview Requested: You may be asked to attend an interview (rare but possible)
  • Decision Made: A decision has been reached — check for whether approved or refused and next steps
  • Passport Requested: APPROVED — submit your passport for visa sticker placement

Passport Submission (If Approved)

  • Passport Request Letter: IRCC sends detailed instructions on how and where to submit your passport
  • Submission Options: Usually via VFS Global drop-off or courier service as specified in the instructions
  • Visa Sticker: Your visa (counterfoil) is placed as a sticker in your passport
  • Return: Passport returned via VFS collection or courier (depending on your selection)
  • Verify Immediately: Upon receiving your passport, immediately check all visa details — your name spelling, passport number, validity dates, number of entries, any conditions/remarks

If Your Application is Refused

  • Refusal Letter: You'll receive a letter stating reasons for refusal in your IRCC account (reasons are often stated in generic/standard categories)
  • Fees: All fees are completely non-refundable regardless of outcome
  • No Formal Appeal: Visitor visa and most TRV refusals cannot be formally appealed to a tribunal; you must submit a new application
  • GCMS Notes: You can request detailed processing notes via Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) request to understand the specific officer concerns
  • GCMS Notes Cost: Approximately CAD $5 via online ATIP request; takes about 30–60 days to receive
  • Reapply: Address the specific refusal reasons with stronger documentation and clearer explanations in your new application
  • No Mandatory Waiting Period: You can reapply immediately, but reapplying with the same weak profile without improvements will likely result in another refusal
💡 Understanding Refusal Reasons & GCMS Notes

IRCC refusal letters often use standard/template language that can be vague and frustrating. Common refusal codes and phrases include:

  • "Purpose of visit not established" — officer wasn't convinced of your genuine reason to visit
  • "Ties to country of residence insufficient" — not enough evidence you'll return to Bangladesh
  • "Financial resources inadequate" — funds shown don't support the trip or appear unreliable
  • "Travel history" — concerns about lack of previous travel or previous compliance issues
  • "Not satisfied applicant will leave Canada" — overall assessment that you may overstay

GCMS Notes Recommendation: Before reapplying after a refusal, strongly consider requesting GCMS notes via ATIP (costs only ~CAD $5 online). Common Mistakes That Cause Rejection

MistakeWhy It's a ProblemSolution
Weak ties to BangladeshOfficer believes you have no compelling reason to return homeShow property ownership, stable long-term career, established business, close family (spouse, children) remaining in Bangladesh
Insufficient or unstable fundsCan't demonstrate ability to support yourself; raises concern about illegal workShow 6–12 months consistent bank balance (CAD $5,000–15,000+ depending on trip); explain any sudden deposits with proof
No travel historyFirst-time traveler to developed country is considered higher riskBuild travel history with easier destinations first if possible; if not, strengthen all other areas significantly
Vague or generic purposeOfficer not convinced of genuine, specific reason for visiting CanadaProvide detailed cover letter with specific activities, places to visit, people to meet, and genuine reasons
Weak host invitationCanadian host's income, status, or relationship doesn't convincingly support the visitEnsure host provides comprehensive financial proof (NOA, employment letter), detailed invitation, and clear relationship evidence
Inconsistent informationDetails in application don't match supporting documents — creates major credibility issueCross-check ALL documents meticulously before submission; be 100% truthful and consistent throughout
Previous refusals unexplainedPattern of rejections without demonstrating what has changed or improvedAddress prior refusal reasons directly and explicitly in cover letter; show what has improved since last application
Incomplete or poor quality documentsMissing pages, blurry scans, unsigned forms, illegible documents frustrate processingDouble-check all uploads; ensure every document is complete, clear, high-resolution, and properly signed where required
Sudden large bank depositsAppears to be borrowed money temporarily inflating balance, not genuine savingsExplain source of any large deposits with supporting documents (property sale deed, business invoices, FDR maturity, gift letter with donor's proof)
Not proactively addressing weaknessesOfficer finds concerns that you didn't explain, reducing credibilityWrite a comprehensive cover letter that proactively addresses potential concerns, gaps in employment, previous refusals, or unusual circumstances
Misrepresentation (any false information)Providing false information is a serious offense that can result in 5-year ban and criminal inadmissibilityAlways be 100% truthful in every answer and document; it's better to explain a negative truthfully than to lie
💡 The Critical Importance of a Strong Cover Letter

While a cover letter (Letter of Explanation) is not officially mandatory for Canadian visa applications, it is essentially essential for Bangladeshi applicants. A well-crafted cover letter allows you to:

  • Explain your genuine purpose of visit in specific detail
  • Highlight your strong ties to Bangladesh (job, property, family, business)
  • Proactively address any potential red flags or concerns (employment gaps, previous refusals, unusual deposits, lack of travel history)
  • Demonstrate clearly your intent and ability to return home after your visit
  • Provide context for your financial situation and how you can afford the trip
  • Tell your story in your own words rather than letting the officer make assumptions

A weak application without a cover letter leaves the officer to guess and assume the worst. A strong cover letter guides the officer through your application and addresses concerns before they become reasons for refusal.

goFLY can help you draft an effective, honest, and compelling cover letter tailored to your specific situation. Call 01713-289170.

Frequently Asked Questions

Create an IRCC online account (GCKey), complete application forms (IMM 5257, IMM 5645, others as required), upload all documents (passport, photos, invitation letter, 6-12 months bank statements, employment/business proof, ties to Bangladesh documentation, detailed cover letter), pay fees online (CAD $185 total), provide biometrics at VFS Global Dhaka within 30 days of receiving BIL, wait for decision (25–120+ days), respond to any requests, and submit passport when approved. goFLY can assist with the entire process — call 01713-289170.

Visitor visa: CAD $100 application fee + CAD $85 biometrics = CAD $185 total per person. Family of 5+ applying together: CAD $500 (capped) + CAD $170 biometrics = CAD $670 total. Study Permit: CAD $235 total. Super Visa: CAD $185 (same as visitor). Fees confirmed as of December 2025 with no changes announced for 2026. Always verify current fees on IRCC Fees page before payment. All fees are non-refundable.

Visitor visa: typically 25–120+ days (often 40–90 days; highly variable week to week). Super Visa: 60–150+ days. Study Permit: 8–20 weeks (regular stream), 20 calendar days target (SDS stream if fully eligible). Processing times fluctuate significantly based on volume and season. Check weekly on IRCC Processing Times. We recommend applying 3–6 months before your intended travel date.

Top rejection reasons: 1) Weak ties to Bangladesh (no property, unstable job, limited family obligations), 2) Insufficient or unstable funds (low balance, sudden unexplained deposits), 3) No previous travel history to developed countries, 4) Vague or unconvincing purpose of visit, 5) Weak invitation from Canadian host (host's income/status insufficient), 6) Inconsistent information across documents, 7) Previous refusals not addressed, 8) Not proactively explaining weaknesses in cover letter. Canada has very strict assessment standards — you must demonstrate beyond doubt that you're a genuine temporary visitor who will return home.

There's no official fixed minimum amount, but you must convincingly demonstrate sufficient funds for your entire trip plus your overall financial stability. General guidance: show 6–12 months of bank statements with a consistent balance of CAD $5,000–15,000+ equivalent (or more for longer trips, multiple travelers, or expensive itineraries). The balance must be stable and consistent — not sudden deposits before application. Funds should be proportional to your trip length, purpose, and overall financial profile. Your Canadian host's financial support can supplement your funds but ideally shouldn't be your only source.

Yes, if you're ages 14–79. After submitting your online application and paying fees, you'll receive a Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) in your IRCC account. Book an appointment at VFS Global Dhaka immediately via VFS website and provide 10-finger fingerprints + photo within 30 days. Biometrics fee is CAD $85 per person (CAD $170 for family of 2+). Once provided, biometrics are valid for 10 years — you won't need to provide again for subsequent Canadian applications within that period.

Regular visitor visa (TRV) allows stays of up to 6 months per entry. Super Visa (only for parents/grandparents of Canadian citizens/PRs) allows stays of up to 5 years per entry without renewing status. Super Visa requires: your child/grandchild meeting the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) threshold based on family size, mandatory private medical insurance of at least CAD $100,000 for minimum 1 year, and upfront medical examination before applying. Both visa types are multiple-entry and can be valid for up to 10 years. Application fee is the same (CAD $185). Super Visa is ideal for parents wanting extended stays with their families in Canada.

Work permits require a valid, genuine job offer from a Canadian employer, typically backed by an approved Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). You cannot simply "apply for a work visa" without first having a legitimate job offer and proper documentation from the employer. goFLY does NOT process work permits, LMIA applications, or arrange jobs in Canada. Any agency or individual promising "guaranteed Canada work visa" or "job packages" without you having a real job offer and proper documentation is almost certainly running a scam. Be extremely cautious and skeptical of such offers.

You'll receive a refusal letter with stated reasons in your IRCC online account. All fees are completely non-refundable. Visitor visa and most TRV refusals cannot be formally appealed to a tribunal — you must submit a fresh application. You can request GCMS notes via ATIP (Access to Information) for approximately CAD $5 online; this takes 30–60 days and provides detailed processing notes revealing the specific officer concerns. Address those exact issues with stronger documentation in your new application. There's no mandatory waiting period to reapply, but submitting the same weak application without significant improvements will likely result in another refusal. Contact goFLY at 01713-289175 for honest assessment before reapplying.

No. Bangladeshi passport holders are NOT eligible for Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). You MUST apply for a full Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) regardless of your purpose.

No, a cover letter (Letter of Explanation) is not officially mandatory according to IRCC requirements. However, it is essentially essential and highly recommended for Bangladeshi applicants. A well-written cover letter allows you to: explain your genuine purpose of visit in specific detail, highlight your strong ties to Bangladesh (property, job, family, business), proactively address any potential red flags or concerns (gaps in employment, previous visa refusals, unusual bank deposits, lack of travel history), demonstrate clearly your intent and ability to return home after your visit, and provide context for your overall situation in your own words. Many successful applications from Bangladesh include a compelling, honest cover letter that guides the officer through the application and addresses likely concerns before they become refusal reasons. goFLY can help you draft an effective cover letter tailored to your specific situation.

A Canadian visa only grants entry to Canada — it does not allow entry to other countries. However, having a valid Canadian visa can provide some benefits: you may be eligible for visa-free or simplified transit through certain countries, and having a Canadian visa in your passport demonstrates travel history which can strengthen applications for other difficult destinations like the USA, UK, or Schengen. Some countries also offer visa-on-arrival or e-visa to travelers with valid Canadian visas. But you still need to apply separately for visas to other destinations — a Canadian visa is not a substitute for other countries' entry requirements.
